Senior Class Organized 1933 Elects Officers

The Senior Class of 1933 with 23 members met August 16 to organize. Officers elected include President RK Collier Vice President Pharris Mackey Secretary Gladys Mae Ash Treasurer Jim Eubanks Sponsor Prof Jh A Hawkins Class Mother Mrs RR Ash and the class plans hard work toward earning their diplomas by year end.

Methodist Church Service Schedule and Call to Attendance

The Methodist church lists Sunday school at 10 A M, preaching at 11 A M, Epworth League at 7 30 P M, and evening worship at 8 15 P M. Bronte School Opens Strong With Record Enrollment

The Bronte school reports the best opening week with high attendance and strong school spirit. Enrollment surpassed 100 students with 105 at the high school including 23 seniors, and two more prospects expected.

Death of Mrs Eliza Van Zandt at Fort Chadbourne Texas

Mrs Eliza Van Zandt died after years of illness at the family home seven miles north of Bronte on the Sweetwater highway Monday night August 14 1982 Burial followed at Fort Chadbourne cemetery with services at the graveside conducted by a Church of Christ minister She was born in Missouri in 1867 and came to Texas in 1900 with husband Dave Van Zandt who preceded her in death She is survived by seven children Mrs Mark Balentine Irvin Mrs Cap Blair Winters Mrs Oscar Clift Corpus Christi Homer Van Zandt Plainview Mrs A J McDaniel Jodie and I J Van Zandt Fort Chadbourne
