Farmers plan ahead after a good grain yield and favorable prices. They look to summer and fall breaking as essential to proper cultivation for the next season.
Emory Bell secures a subscription to the old home town paper for his sister Mrs. W. A. Sipes of Albuquerque New Mexico. The note expresses hope she enjoys weekly visits of the publication carrying weekly happenings back at home.
A Frigidaire top was lost last week while moving to Robert Lee. The finder should notify George Chisholm at Bronte or Fred McDonald Jr of Robert Lee.
Dr. Geo W Cox, Texas State Health Officer, explains pellagra as a diet related disease not contagious. He notes symptoms including skin changes, loss of appetite and weakness, and urges a diet rich in milk meat vegetables tomatoes whole wheat salmon yeast and fruits to prevent and treat the condition.
M J Golden reports large attendance and enjoyable meetings at the Primitive Baptist Association in Abilene spanning Friday Saturday and Sunday with good notes from the sessions.
Mr and Mrs J D McCaleb and their son Reverend J D McCaleb of Edith passed through Bronte Tuesday en route to Coleman and Santa Anna to visit relatives.
Mr. and Mrs Clarence Arrott and their children left Tuesday for the Dallas Exposition. From Dallas they will travel to Sparta Tennessee to visit Mrs Arrott’s grandmother, a trip Mrs Arrott has never seen. They plan a three week journey with high hopes for the adventure.
Fred McDonald Jr and his father Fred McDonald Sr run a cotton gin in Robert Lee. They requested The Enterprise, to keep up with Bronte news. Gratitude is expressed for the help given.
Mr and Mrs Pete Clark on route two near Tennyson hosted the tister and wife this week feeding them chicken and expressing thanks for two fryers eggs and peas. The editor notes supplies will last the next week thanks to the generous generosity.
R H Herron of Eunice New Mexico is staying several days to repaint his farm residence near town and oversee improvements Emory Bell tends Herrons land and reports a strong crop outlook Herron notes Bells ex wife questions the effort but jokes about a return to Bronte and Coke county locals say they would welcome the family back with May flowers.
Miss Lottie Ivey reports a pleasant trip visiting relatives in Lamesa and Chattanooga Oklahoma. She noted Indian customs including shawls for women and long plaited hair for men. She will rest before returning to Laredo to resume teaching at the Holding Institute.
Postmaster R J Epperson and his wife vacation in the New Mexico Rockies above the clouds. Assistant postmistress Pearl Boynton, aided by Emory Bell and the regular office staff, keep the mails running strictly on time.
