Legion Opens Membership to Vietnam Veterans
The American Legion announces new eligibility for Vietnam era veterans following rapid congressional action and Presidential approval. Eligible service spans August 5 1964 to cessation of hostilities, plus World War I 1917 1918 World War II 1941 1945 and the Korean War 1950 1953.

Mrs Joe George Wilkins spoke on Women of the Bible at the Diversity Club meeting held Thursday night in the home of Mrs O R McQueen outlining Ruth Naomi Esther and other figures. Mrs Otis Smith presided and announced committee chairs to plan a float for the Homecoming parade on Oct 15. Rogers celebrate 50th anniversary with family open house
Mr and Mrs Henry Rogers observe their golden wedding with an open house from two to five pm in their home. Hosted by their three living children Fay Wheeler Irene Hardy and Marlin Rogers. One son James Evans Rogers was killed in Okinawa during World War II. They were married in Bronte and have ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
