Austin 48 of San Angelo swept away in Dry Creek Park flood near San Angelo last Wednesday. Tom Green County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Ernest Haynes said searchers failed to locate the body by 4:30 p.m. Wednesday as crews combed the North Concho River and aerial searchers surveyed the surface. Authorities expect waters to recede by Thursday morning after more rains. the river banks remain muddy and treacherous for recovery efforts. Austin, born December 23, 1925 in Robert Lee, son of Mrs. Coke Austin, lived largely between Sinsin and Robert Lee.

Members of the Diversity Club met September 12 at the home of Mrs. Otis Smith for the first meeting of the 1974 75 club year. New president H M Kirkland outlined plans while Mrs. Kemp announced the new seifbooks and officers included Mrs. O W Martin secretary and Mrs. Margaret Brunson treasurer.
