Roy Wilkins Family Returns to Texas for Court Reporter Post
Roy D. Wilkins and family move back to Texas settling in Lubbock where he becomes Court Reporter for the United States District Court Northern District of Texas under newly appointed Judge Halbert O. Woodward. He will report for both Lubbock and Amarillo and brings prior experience in Nevada Idaho and Texas courts. He is married to Mary Elizabeth Crownover of Loraine and they have five children.

Screwworm cases and control urged in Coke County column
Coke County reports two screwworm cases in the Silver area with cases by M. C. Hendry and Foster Sims Price. Rain across south and southwest Texas may fuel the outbreak. Officials urge regular livestock checks, spraying to control screwworms, horn flies and ticks, delaying branding and docking, treating wounds, and using targeted sterile fly drops to guard the overwintering zone as cold weather approaches.

Marla Rees left Monday with her parents for visits in Austin Bastrop and Houston. She stopped in Bastrop to see Mrs. Charles Rabensburg and spent time on Galveston beach and Clear Lake boating.
