Texas Interconnected System links nine power grids in Texas
The Texas Interconnected System binds nine major power systems including Dallas Power and Light, Texas Power and Light, Texas Electric Service, West Texas Utilities, Houston Lighting and Power, Central Power and Light, City of Austin, City PSB San Antonio, and Lower Colorado River Authority. It ensures a spinning reserve and rapid load transfer when a generating unit trips off line, serving about 8 million people across 195000 square miles.
