Stanley Westbrook a 14 year old youth from Tennyson was injured in a Wednesday afternoon automobile collision near Miles. He stayed in Bronte Hospital with minor injuries but Guy Adkins 42 and Vernon Proctor 37 were taken to a San Angelo hospital in reportedly stable condition.
The Robert Lee Rabbit Twisters host the Goodfellow AFB Skyhawks in a final Concho Basin League game next Sunday at 3 p m. The winner takes 60 percent of a 300 dollar purse after a two out of three series. Robert Lee won the first game, Skyhawks won the second in San Angelo 10 to 8.
Local notes report Billy Jack Gentry recovering after surgery at Bronte Hospital and planning to enroll at Texas Tech College in Lubbock later this fall. Mr. and Mrs. Sid Evans returned from a 10 day wedding trip to Colorado and will reside in Bronte Humble Camp.

Granddaughter of Mr and Mrs Wyley McRorey killed in a Bakersfield California wreck early Sunday. Her three week old son injured and her husband jailed with a broken jaw. Former Betty Jo Lewis of Sweetwater. Funeral services planned in Sweetwater late in the week. She is aunt to Mrs Lee Richards and Mrs Odd McAulay of Bronte.
Members gathered at Mrs. Roy Robinson’s home last Friday for the Sorosis Club’s first fall meeting with co hostess Mrs. Clark Glenn. Discussion covered yearbooks and programs for the coming year along with committee appointments and a panel on common club ailments led by Mrs. Ben Oglesby. Refreshments were served. Participants included Mines Heidel Brunson A E Bell Jr Matthew Caperton Clark Glenn Clyde Lee Royce Lee Binks McCutchen W D McDonald Bill McKown Ben Oglesby Charlie Phillips Jack Price Joe Rawlings Sam Richards R H Sims Bob Wilson and the hostess.
Members met last Wednesday at Miss Gladys Waldrop s home with four members and one visitor present. President Mrs J W Labenske presided as the program on Attaching Collars and Facings was given by Miss Waldrop. The group will meet Thursday September 17 with Mrs Dan Middleton.
Regular monthly meeting of the Home Demonstration Council was held Tuesday September 8 in the Agent's office. Five clubs were represented. Committees reporting included finance recreation yearbook 4 H E s and marketing. Achievement Day was set for November 12 with one demonstration in each community. Miss Gladys Waldrop reported on the State THDA meeting.
