Dallas State Fair to Enchant with Mid Century Exposition
The 1950 State Fair of Texas runs Oct 7 to 22 on an 187 acre site showcasing a Mid-Century Exposition of 20th Century achievement. R L Thornton says the 65 year, 35 million investment powers the greatest fair with 2.25 million expected attendees and a schedule spanning 24 performances of South Pacific, Ice Cycles of 1951 and Toy Shop plus a 26 breed livestock show and the nation’s largest cattle breed display. A tensor of events includes free acts by Loof Rios and Great Orion, a vast Midway with Sky Wheels and 32 rides, and the Cotton Bowl sports lineup featuring Oklahoma vs Texas and SMU vs Oklahoma A&M among other high profile entertainments.
