At the Army Air Forces Preflight School for Pilots in San Antonio Texas the San Antonio Aviation Cadet Center hosts 452 cadets from Texas including two Bronte youths Aviation Cadets William S Evans and James V Glenn The cadets will complete studies at the preflight school then proceed to a primary flying field for further basic and advanced flight training toward becoming combat pilots
PFC Orval Moreland graduates from the B-24 Liberator bomber mechanics school at Keesler Field Biloxi Mississippi after about eight weeks of training in servicing heavy bombers. He will report for active duty or further training at factory schools or gunnery schools. The Bronte Enterprise notes his parents Mr and Mrs T M Moreland of Bronte Texas will receive word.
