The Eighth annual Edwards Plateau Historical Association meeting will be October 18 in the Robert Lee School auditorium. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. Jerry Rogers of Texas Tech will discuss preserving ranch history. Local papers, lunch, and a historical tour are planned. all are invited.
Friday deadline for boys age 8 through 13 to enter the Punt Pass and Kick contest sponsored by Ivey Motor Co. The event takes place Saturday at Hickman Stadium in the County Park. A parent or guardian must accompany entries. J. D. Mumford is field director. trophies awarded to winners in each age group.
The three Coke County federated women’s clubs will host a district workshop and luncheon on October 17 in Ballinger. The Heart of Texas District will represent 29 towns and 63 clubs with Leadership in Fine Arts as the theme. State Sen. David M. Ratliff will speak at the luncheon at the Texas Grill, with welcome by Mrs. D. K. Glenn and presiding by Mrs. A. A. Stewart.
