Bronte Nursing Home Opens After Long Local Effort
Bronte Nursing Home becomes a reality with opening set for Monday November 22. The project grew from 1968 Lions Club surveys to create East Coke County Hospital District via state legislation passed in 1969 and approved by voters in August 1969. The district plans a 32 bed facility with potential expansion, bond election set for January 15 1970 and ongoing board governance led by Rev C R Blake and Matthew Caperton.
