Coke County Farm Bureau met October 28 at Bisonte School. Officers Wayne Arrott Fred McCabe Jr and Mrs C E Arrott were re elected. Delegates to the state convention November 17 19 in San Antonio were chosen with Ben Boykin Fred McCabe Jr and Paul Burns as delegates. their wives as alternates. Bad weather reduced turnout. Blue Cross Blue Shield policy changes were discussed with details to follow. Members may join at current rates until November 15 with rate increases for new members after that date.
The FFA selects two senior teams and three junior teams for the upcoming contests. Senior Chapter Conducting: Danny Cooper Kenneth Stroebel Dan ay Schwell Joe Basquez Steve Clark Donnie Thompson. Senior Farm Skills: Gary Skelton Lynn Lawhon Mike Arrott Rance Brunnon. Junior teams cover Chapter Conducting Farm Skill and Quiz. selections from freshman vocational agriculture class due. District banquet on December 4 in San Angelo will crown a District Sweetheart, with Susan Cumbie Bronte’s entry in the contest.
Technical Sergeant Richard B. Sprenkle, son of Mr and Mrs Robert Sprenkle of Neosho Missouri, received the Bronze Star Medal at Dover AFB Delaware for meritorious service in Vietnam. He served as aircraft maintenance technician with the 19th Tactical Airlift Support Squadron at Bien Hoa Air Base and now with the 617th Organizational Maintenance Squadron of the Military Airlift Command. He is a 1954 Nevada High School graduate. His wife Bernice is daughter of Mr and Mrs Francis Seltz of Bronte.
