National Highway Week Open House Scheduled
During National Highway Week May 20 to 26 an Open House will be held at the Maintenance Section Headquarters and the Resident Engineers Office in Bal linger on Friday May 25. J A Snell District Engineer invites area residents to visit 8 am to 5 pm to learn about the agency which maintains 2200 miles of highway. Visitors will see two way radio communications machinery and lab testing equipment used to assess new highways and maintain roads in smooth riding condition.

Roy Wayne Stout, 17, moved to Bronte to live with his parents after completing junior year at McAdoo. Mr and Mrs E L Champion spent the weekend in Haskell for a wedding and visiting friends. George Chisholm of Eden attended the Bronte open house. they are former Bronte residents and Chisholm is a retired West Texas Utilities manager.
