Bronte High School selects student council leaders for 1962 63 term led by president Johnnie Sims with vice president Gregg Whalen and secretary Barry Curlee. Treasurer Jimmy Wells reporter Peggy Corley and parliamentarian Jim Morrow named to complete the slate.
Uncle Huie recounts a Saturday morning in town with barber shop chatter about feather bedding at the White House and a short discussion of a small debt reduction bill by Congressman James C. Davis. He notes the Chief Gardener’s request for more help and jokes about value for money.
Band director Bobby Bingham led the high school band through a spring concert in the auditorium on Monday night. The performance drew a appreciative audience as students wore formal attire and colored lights illuminated the stage and backdrop curtain decorated in silver.
