Screwworm Update and Sheep Demonstrations Highlight Agents Column

The weekly Texas screwworm report shows a drop in cases for April 21 to 27 with new samples from Coke County testing non-screw worm results. The Hotspotting program coordinates area veterinarians, spray operations, and release of sterile flies to curb outbreaks. A sheep selection and wool preparation demonstration draws about 55 operators at the show barn, with talks by James A. Gray, Floyd Harmon, and Herman Cassidy plus a Zip dog performance. The Wheat Referendum vote is set for May 21, with polling at the County ASC office. Voters are urged to seek complete program details from the ASC office or the author, and screwworm vials remain available.
