Mrs Labenske hosted the Methodist WSCS Monday afternoon. Devotional by Mrs Ragsdale followed by program "Break Through in Asia" led by Mrs Russell. Mrs Higginbotham spoke on "The Quiet People" and the group closed with the WSCS motto. A refreshment plate was served. Present were Mrs Modgling and Miss Lizzie Brock.

Mayor Royce Lee orders a city election in Bronte Texas for one Mayor and three Aldermen to be held April 6 1968. Precinct 1 at City Hall appoints Noah Pruitt Sr as Presiding Judge with up to two clerks and Helen Kirkland as absentee voting clerk. Absentee voting runs eight hours daily eight to five from the 20th to the day before the election. Voting restricted to resident qualified voters of Bronte Texas. City Secretary to post notice 30 days prior. Return of results to the Mayor as required.

Guy Hamilton Denman 75 a Coke County resident for 45 years died early Wednesday in West Coke County Hospital Funeral services set for Friday at 2 30 p m at First Methodist Church in Robert Lee with Rev Bobby Paimos among the officiants Burial will be in Robert Lee Cemetery under Williams Funeral Home direction Denman born February 17 1883 was a son of the late Mr and Mrs M L Denman He came to Coke County from Hunt County in 1923 and was a retired farmer stockman He lived on his Sance farm before moving to Robert Lee He was a Methodist parishioner He married Emma Pierce in 1914 she died in 1935 and he wed Velma Gartman Burns in 1937 Survivors include his wife four sons J W Denman Robert Lee Aubrey Denman Bronte M L Denman Corpus Christi Orville Denman Rockville Md one daughter Estaline Pate Denver City one sister Mrs L D Cadenhead McKinney 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren

Dimes Drive Raises Over $1000 in Coke County for March of Dimes
Elmer Hurley, Coke County fund drive chairman, reported a total of 1004.65 raised. Robert Lee contributed 304.59, Bronte 582.06, and the Coke County Golf Tournament 118. Bronte gave about 60 cents per person vs the national average of 30 cents. Hurley thanked volunteers and donors for the big success.

Scout Camporee Set for Brady Lake March 30 and 31
