Nine Bronte Hospital student nurses received their caps in a capping ceremony last Friday morning. Mrs. John R. Harris, instructor, presented the caps to Mmes. Virginia Guernsey Ershel Mackey Ruby Blackmon Marlene Vaughn Will Estelle Brock Vera Forman all of Bronte Vernell Van Zandt Blackwell Betty Weidmer Ballinger Wanda Cave Wingate. Classes began last October and continue through fall when they will take exams to become Licensed Vocational Nurses.

Audit completes in The Enterprise Coke County funds report
The Enterprise publishes the Coke County annual audit concluding this week with tables recapping receipts and expenses across all funds. County Auditor Weldon Fikes notes overall balances down about 25 000 from 1959 as receipts fell similarly, sinking funds rise to 144 579 02, and total funds drop about 130 000. The retirement of the 1949 hospital bonds leaves zero in the fund’s last columns.

Outsiders To Play Volleyball Here Tuesday
Two outsider teams traveled to Robert Lee to play volleyball. The ladies won two of three while the men lost to Robert Lee. A return match is set for Tuesday night March 28 in Bronte High School gym. Sewer Deposits Pour In For New System
Mrs. Helen Kirkland city secretary reported 254 residents have posted $25 deposits to tie into the new sewer system. Construction progresses on schedule with completion expected about May 1, while many plan to hire Button Plumbing Co. to lay service lines. The disposal plant southeast of town sits on land owned by Annie Wilkins. Clyde Construction Co. of Odess a has the building contract, Scott Engineering Co. of Watertown, S. C. handles engineering, with Larry Little as resident engineer.

Bailey family visit updates Bronte woman in Amarillo hospital
Mr and Mrs H L Grigg visited Mrs Jack Bailey, former Bronte resident, in Amarillo last weekend where she is seriously ill after a stroke but reported improved. She expects hospitalization about three more weeks. The Griggs then went to Pampa to see Jack Bailey and his sons.

Call for east Coke County March of Dimes chairmanship
The Enterprise reports difficulty filling the Coke County March of Dimes east side chair job. West side leaders Robert Lee and Silver have raised over 700 dollars for 1960, while Bronte has only 5 dollars. John King of Robert Lee urges east side contributions, noting the drive must help the National Foundation. Bronte canvassing is planned but no resident or rural volunteer has stepped forward. Contributions can be mailed or brought to The Enterprise office.
