Mrs Ware Honored With Pink and Blue Shower

A pink and blue shower honored Mrs. Jerry Ware on March 12 at Mrs. Jerry Hail’s home. Omega Coterie hosted. 23 guests attended, including her parents the Thompsons and the Halls. WSCS and WMA meetings noted, with programs on Indonesia and missionary themes. Nearby social visits listed include the Barnes and Hipp families during the weekend.

Reverend Smith Returns From Canada Crusade of Americas

The Rev. Johnny Smith of Mesquite completed a two week revival in Canada as part of the Crusade of the Americas. He preached at B H E Carroll Memorial Baptist Church in North Battleford Saskatchewan and at an Indian reservation and two other churches. Smith, son of Mr and Mrs C R Smith of Bronte, was music directed by Joe Jones of Snyder. He serves as associate secretary of the Mission and Stewardship division of the Southern Baptist Convention of Texas, based in Dallas.

Seaman Fuentez Returns to Little Creek Aboard USS Capricornus

Seaman Rudolph Fuentez, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ramon C. Fuentez of Bronte, returns to Little Creek Virginia aboard the attack cargo ship USS Capricornus after a four month Caribbean deployment. The ship took part in Operation Springboard, a series of Atlantic Fleet training exercises to boost readiness and simulate combat conditions.

Lester Peters Serves Aboard USS Ticonderoga

Chief Aviation Ordnanceman Lester G. Peters II, son of Blackwell residents, serves on the USS Ticonderoga during its fifth Western Pacific tour. The carrier supports Carrier Air Wing strike missions off Vietnam, with a history of five World War II battle stars and a Navy Unit Commendation from its last Southeast Asian cruise.

Services Held for Roger Mills Bell

Funeral services for Roger Mills Bell, 82, of San Angelo were held in the Robert Massie Funeral Chapel. He died at 8 15 a.m. Sunday in a San Angelo Nursing Home. Survivors include his wife a daughter Mrs Lee Williams of San Angelo a son Roscoe Bell of Auburn California and a sister Mrs Gerald Swann of Coleman.

Mrs. Hughes Attends Hodges Funeral in Santa Anna

Mrs. J. F. Hughes with her father B. A. Baugh and Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Gilmore of Stanton went to Santa Anna on Monday to attend funeral services for Claude L. Hodges, an uncle of Mrs. Hughes, who died after a long illness.
