Reverend Smith Returns From Canada Crusade of Americas
The Rev. Johnny Smith of Mesquite completed a two week revival in Canada as part of the Crusade of the Americas. He preached at B H E Carroll Memorial Baptist Church in North Battleford Saskatchewan and at an Indian reservation and two other churches. Smith, son of Mr and Mrs C R Smith of Bronte, was music directed by Joe Jones of Snyder. He serves as associate secretary of the Mission and Stewardship division of the Southern Baptist Convention of Texas, based in Dallas.

Seaman Rudolph Fuentez, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ramon C. Fuentez of Bronte, returns to Little Creek Virginia aboard the attack cargo ship USS Capricornus after a four month Caribbean deployment. The ship took part in Operation Springboard, a series of Atlantic Fleet training exercises to boost readiness and simulate combat conditions.

Funeral services for Roger Mills Bell, 82, of San Angelo were held in the Robert Massie Funeral Chapel. He died at 8 15 a.m. Sunday in a San Angelo Nursing Home.
