In a June 13 meeting Bronte school board discussed measures to prevent water entering the new elementary school auditorium. A committee of L F McCutchen J W Teague and J M Rippetoe was formed to investigate. The board approved a gasoline mower and selected Security Insurance Co for 1957 58 school and athletic insurance with stipulations. The board also thanked Bronte city officials for equipment used to raise the football press box.

Funeral services for Mrs. J E Mitchell 75 were held at Bronte First Baptist Church with Rev JM Rogers officiating. Fire damages Wrinkle home near two thirty explosion
About $700 damage was caused by a fire at George Wrinkle residence Wednesday afternoon. Smoke damaged ceilings and upper wallpaper while the blaze started with an explosion as he tried to light the hot water heater. Neighbors summoned the fire department and helped extinguish the fire.
