City of Bronte plans a sale of about 30 acres around the old City Lake on the Ballinger Highway with a lien in effect. Bids may be submitted to the City Commission and the city may reject any or all bids. Ernest Ivey mayor signs the notice. Frank Keesee advertises a Bronte home for sale.
Mr and Mrs Rube Collins return from a two week vacation visiting Corsicana East Texas and then Del Rio to see their son in law Captain Roy T Pryor and his wife. The Pryors recently moved from Amarillo to Del Rio and the couple also visited Old Mexico during their Border City stay.
Weekend visits pass through San Angelo Grand Prairie Abilene and Miles as residents gather relatives and friends. Raymond Ditmore leaves for Peoria Illinois for mechanic school. Father and Fathers Day gatherings noted with local families in Bronte San Angelo and Sterling City.
The Sunday morning sermon at First Methodist Church will focus on What to do with Summer. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m. No evening service due to Rev and Mrs Lin Loeffler leaving Sunday afternoon for Kerrville to serve as counselors at a Methodist youth summer camp.
Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Munsell of Fort Worth and Mrs. Howard Moore of San Angelo visited, with Mrs. Ernestine Powell Thursday of last week.
