County home demonstration agent Mrs. Fay C. Roe led a 37 person Bronte audience at the West Texas Utilities office in a session on freezing and canning vegetables and fruits. She stressed proper packaging to prevent moisture loss and noted canning remains a strong preservation option. C. E. Arrott oversaw registration. West Texas Utilities presented a steam draw prize to R. M. Andrews. refreshments followed.
Mr and Mrs Billy Sid Evans of Spearman win a jet flight to New York for three days at the 1964 World’s Fair. Prize package includes three nights at the Plaza Hotel, a $100 wardrobe, a Hart Schaffner & Marx Viracle suit, and Nunn Bush shoes. The Bronte natives plan to travel August 24 for their trip.
