No Injuries In Tuesday Wreck On Highway 277
A collision between a Ford driven by Mrs. B G Timmons of Bronte and a Chevrolet driven by Joseph L White of Midland occurred Tuesday morning on Highway 277 near the Cumbie residence. Both vehicles were damaged but no injuries were reported.

Funeral services held for Mrs. N. D. Lee at Ballinger
Funeral services for 81 year old Mrs. N D Lee were held Tuesday at 2 pm in the Allen Davis Chapel Ballinger with Rev Fred Campbell officiating. Burial followed in Norton Cemetery under Newby Davis Funeral Home direction. Pallbearers were Ellis Lee Clarence Lee Wendell Lee Raymond Lee Clyde Lee and Royce Lee. Mrs Lee died Sunday at Holiday Hills Rest Home Coleman after a period of illness. Surviving family includes six sons Lenard Joe W Winifred Jack Harlin and James, 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Maverick Homecoming Draws Large Crowd for Biannual Event
About 500 people attended the Maverick community two day homecoming in the old school auditorium now a community center. Officiants greeted guests, name tags were issued, and displays of old settlers photos and school records were shown. Sunday services, barbecue lunch, and a recognition hour highlighted the gathering with Bill Morgan traveling from California and Nell Mackey aged 91 noted as the oldest attendee.

Another Inch Adds To Years Rainfall
An inch of rain fell in the Bronte area last Friday night, raising the year's total. High winds caused damage in Blackwell and Silver and Lance reported hail.
