Bronte ISD to Hold September 1956 Tax Election
Bronte Independent School District will hold a tax election September 1 1956 for an ad valorem tax levy not exceeding 1.25 per 100 of property value to fund public schools. The election at Bronte City Hall will designate voting officers and ballot options For Tax Increase or Against Tax Increase with posting and notification procedures outlined.

Mrs H A Fitzhugh of San Antonio visited her parents Mr and Mrs F S Higginbotham last weekend and took her daughter Cheta home after a week’s stay. They returned home Tuesday. Mrs Lizzie Kiker of Rotan also noted.

Visitors make rounds through Bronte and Houston
A small group of visitors arrived in Bronte last Sunday to see relatives. In Houston this week Mrs. Gertrude Gray and daughter Barbara of Robert Lee accompanied by Barbara underwent heart surgery. Also in town are Mrs. A. M. Bennett and daughter Mary Lucile from Albuquerque visiting Mrs. Bennett’s sister Mrs. George Thomas and mother Mrs. Lucile Baldwin. Mr. and Mrs. Barney Modgling with daughter Mrs. Leonard Jagt and their children visited Elmer Medgling and family in Weatherford, with Mrs. Jagt departing by plane to Lodi New Jersey after six weeks in town.
