The annual Heart Fund drive in Coke County raised 574.00 with 28.50 from memorials. Mrs. Kenneth Lackey, chairman, thanked helpers and urged memorials to be mailed to her or Mrs. Sue Millican at West Texas Utilities in Robert Lee to avoid misallocations to Tom Green County.
Miss Martha Taylor of Unique Zipper Distributing Co. in Dallas will conduct two workshops in Coke County on Thursday April 3. The first session starts at 9:90 a.m. at Bronte City Hall and the second at 2 p.m. at Robert Lee Recreation Center. A demonstration and discussion on zipper applications new products and sewing techniques will be the main topic.
Mrs Willie Mae Glenn, librarian at Bronte School, was guest speaker for the Diversity Club last Thursday in Bronte High School library. She discussed the importance of good reference books and explained the Dewey Decimal system. The meeting opened with a short business session chaired by Mrs D K Glenn and a social reception followed.
Guests at the Stroebel home included Mr and Mrs C A Weiser and Mr and Mrs Ben Weiser with James and Sarah plus Mrs Norman Weiser all from Cisco. Also Dr and Mrs M E Bowen and Jimmy from San Angelo attended as Sunday company.
