About 175 veterans and guests gathered at the State Armory for a reunion and luncheon. Bristol Holds 250th Anniversary Parade Biggest, Most Colorful Celebration Yet
Bristol marked its 250th birthday with eight days of events culminating in Governor Norman Case leading the largest parade in town history. Some 20 000 visitors gathered in Down Town and on the common as military naval firemen and civic groups paraded past, with Brig Gen L H Callan serving as Chief Marshal. The celebration featured regattas bands concerts fireworks and ornate decorations throughout the week ending Saturday with a dazzling fireworks display.
