Army Eyes Nike Housing Sites Near Ferry Road
At a Tuesday Zoning Board hearing a plan to build 16 Nike personnel homes within 10 minutes of a Capehart Act site drew opposition from Ferry residents. Army officials proposed three alternate locations including eight acres near Metacom and DeWolf avenues. The board will draft a report for the Town Council as officials consider land options and unit layouts, with bids anticipated in November and construction hoped for next spring.
