Ray Cordeiro, a southpaw for Colt, signed a bonus contract with the Kansas City Athletics. Scout Frank Seyboth called him an outstanding discovery and predicted a possible triple-A rise within five years. Cordeiro, 17, will report to spring training in Florida or South Carolina before Army service.

Brown To Open Indian Museum At Brown University
Brown University will open the Haffenreffer Museum of the American Indian to the public on Saturdays and Sundays starting Oct. 6 with hours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
