Death of Bristol's oldest citizen John Adams at State Street
John Adams aged about 99 died last evening at his home on State Street after kidney failure. Born March 9 1806 in Bergyly Mass he lived most of his long life in Bristol. He had been a shoemaker and later a gardener, served as a Major in local militia and attended Memorial Congregational Church. He is survived by several children grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral Sunday at Memorial Chapel with interment in North Cemetery.
