John J Foley 66 died yesterday at his sister Lena Holmes home after a long illness. A Bristol native born October 15 1882 in Pigeon Cove Massachusetts he was the husband of the late Caroline DeWolf Foley. A Marine engineer he retired last year from Taylor Construction Co New Bedford. He leaves a daughter Marguerite Foley of Boston two grandchildren a brother Fred of Salem Mass. Funeral from Charles M Connery Funeral Home 8 15 Thursday morning with a solemn high Mass at 9 in St Marys Church burial in St Marys Cemetery.

Over 300 persons attended Trinity Church Bristol lawn social held on Trinity Chapel grounds at 117 State Street. Cake, white elephant tables and refreshments filled the lighted grounds with door prizes awarded. Arrangements committee included Charles E. Livingstone and Rev Thomas E Little with several assistants. Remaining refreshments were donated to the Children’s Home.
Vernal 48 237 State Street died Saturday morning in Bristol. Funeral services were at Sansone Funeral Home followed by a High Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Survived by wife Adelina son Valentine two daughters Zelinda and Anna and a granddaughter. Born November 28 1899 in Ortona Italy he lived in Bristol sixteen years and worked eighteen years at Imperial Knife Co. in Providence. Also survived by brothers in Italy and sister Celeste. Bearers were Colt Football team members.
