In June plans to visit The Belmont at West Harwich for a Cape Cod fall conference of New England Weekly Publishers Association come to life. New Museum Director Brings Arctic Finds to Bristol
Dr J Louis Giddings, new director of the Indian Museum at Mt Hope, arrived with his family after joining Brown University’s management. He comes from the University of Pennsylvania as associate professor of sociology and will teach American Indian and cultural anthropology while organizing the museum as a teaching and research center open to the public. His Arctic explorations include the Denbigh flints and early North American settlement sites on the Bering Sea coast and near Kobuk River Eskimo groups.

Bristol County Water Company customers face a higher minimum charge but a revised tariff trims some costs. John P. Cooney Jr. argued the original plan burdened domestic users, and after discussions with the Public Utility Administrator a fairer scheme reduces charges in the first two blocks while raising a small amount in the upper blocks. Quarterly domestic charges on a five-eighths inch meter would be $5.40 under the revised plan, versus $5.52 previously. The council also addresses dredging delays on Church and State street slips and related public works, with additional notes on Nike housing delays, Asylum road status, sidewalk funding, and Fatima drive projects.
