Cars From Prudence Cause Traffic Jams
Prudence Islanders found parking at the foot of State Street near Thames Street and the launching ramp. Police issued about eight tickets for on street parking near a no parking sign from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Weekend crowds crowded State Street and Town Wharf, pushing some boat owners to use private ramps on Thames Street.

Armory Plans For Major Building Changes In Rhode Island

Bristol Evening School will hold registration on Thursday and Friday September 10 and 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Andrews School. Classes start September 14 and run fifteen weeks with Monday and Tuesday evenings. Elmer Rounds of 92 Beach Road was named chairman of a Beach Terrace Improvement Association committee to survey speeding dangers if Beach Road is widened. Coast Guardsmen Say Weekend Busy With Rescue Ops
Coast Guard depot commander reports a busy weekend with three groundings and several rescue runs. The 26 foot We Six ran aground near Rumstick Point. the 40 foot buoy boat pulled it free. A 24 foot cabin cruiser Rebel towed for engine trouble. two visitors injured while water skiing were treated after disembarking at the dock. The buoy boat also searched for a reportedly disabled craft near East Greenwich but found nothing.
