Electric catastrophe interrupts Mt Hope avenue horse ride
A bay and a black horse on Mt Hope avenue were electrocuted when a street light wire fell after a cottage move. Neighbors aided the Herreshoff pair from the harness as doctors treated neck wounds and police duties struggled to keep spectators back from the sparking line. Sparks reportedly lasted five minutes before power was cut. The event has prompted potential damages suit against the Electric Light Company.
