Marines Seize Seoul Citadel in 1871 Landing
The 1871 U S Navy expedition under Admiral John Rodgers attacked the Salee river forts at Seoul after a failed 10 day reply. Marines and sailors ashore on June 10 killed 250 Koreans with one Marine dead and one wounded, in an early amphibious operation depicted by John Clymer.

The funeral for Mrs Sarah Lee Dimond 77 wife of Charles F Dimond of 56 Church Street was held Sunday at the George M Wilbur Memorial Chapel Warren and at the First Congregational Church. Rev Frederick F Driftmier pastor conducted the service with soloist Roswell S Bosworth singing My Jesus As Thou Wilt. Mrs Dimond died unexpectedly at her summer home on Prudence Island Thursday.

The funeral of Raffaele Attrua 64 of 159 Franklin Street Bristol who died Friday night was held yesterday at Sansone Funeral Home 192 State Street with a Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. The Rev Alex J Peloso celebrated the Mass and committal at St Mary's Cemetery. Survived by wife Margaret two sons Salvatore and Domenic a daughter Rose Malafronte and a brother Dominic all of Bristol. Bearers were nephews Salvator Fred C Louis Saverio Joseph Rinold and Alphonse Cirillo. Born in Scafati Italy October 27 1885 he came to Bristol in 1911.
