Resignation of Bristol School Committee Member Accepted
Leo B Curran's resignation from the Bristol Rhode Island School Committee dated August 19 was presented to the Town Council and accepted. The successor election was deferred. The council discussed tree damage cleanup funding needing about 1200 more dollars beyond the 1500 budget. Special constables Patrick Trainor and Antonio Battiglieri were appointed. Other routine permissions and licenses were granted and the council, later, canvassed voting lists.

Death of George U Arnold Prominent Town Figure
George Ulrich Arnold lifelong resident of the town died Tuesday night at his home 707 Hope Street in his 82nd year after a two month illness. Arteriosclerosis was the cause. Born May 9 1843 in Bristol he was son of Rufus Day and Sarah Arnold. He attended Bristol public schools and Rhode Island Normal School and worked as a clerk in a dry goods store in 1859 60.
