Friday Night Fires Strain City Laddies Across Districts
Two alarm fires kept fire crews busy Friday evening in Districts 14 and 16. A dump fire on Thames street was quickly extinguished, while a blaze in the Mt Hope Block on Hope street drew hundreds of spectators. At about ten o'clock James J Garvin spotted smoke from Talbot Hopkins store and found an overheated motor caused the heavy smoke. shutting off power stopped further danger.
