The Reynolds School gains a new boiler with other minor summer fixes as pupils return September 8. Miss Mildred Aikin joins the senior high math staff while enrollment is expected to slip, causing one fewer English teacher at both senior and junior highs. Seven elementary teachers resign mostly for marriage, to be replaced by local married women. new secretary Mrs Genevieve Marszalek starts.

Gladding Couple Prepares 50th Wedding Anniversary Open House

Yacht Club Supper Series to End

The Bristol Yacht Club will host the final Sunday chowder supper in its series. Mel D Archangelo Earns Second Oak Leaf Cluster

Mel D Archangelo nephew of Mrs Joseph P Quartaro and Mrs Harold King of Portland Maine has been promoted to Staff Sergeant and awarded his second Oak Leaf Cluster for downing a German plane He now holds an Air Medal and two Oak Leaf Clusters A Portland High School graduate class of 1938 he attended Bristol Maine Central Institute and Portland Fire Department before joining the Air Forces.

A bridge and food sale to raise funds for the Bristol Buddy Bundles Fund is set for Wednesday at 8 PM in St Michael's parish house. Three Scouts Sign Up To Dig Maine Potatoes
