Red Cross Disaster Committee Delivers Comprehensive Aid Report

At the first meeting of the Red Cross Disaster Preparedness and Relief Committee the group released a thorough report on medical facilities and shelter for disaster response. Dr. C Paul Bruno led medical staffing and hospitalization plans, listing local and out of town hospitals and extensive supply inventories. Domenic Mascolo presented shelter data and argued for using private homes or temporary shelters to house refugees.

Armistice Day Fund Seeks Donations in Bristol

The Armistice Day arranging committee asks for $100 from citizens and organizations to fund the celebration. Subscriptions may be sent to the Bristol Phoenix and will be acknowledged. Donations received total $58.41, including $48.40 previously acknowledged and $5.00 from Judge Wm. T. O'Donnell and $5.00 from Frank O. René.

Halloween Parties Light Bristol Night From Many Local Groups

A Bristol Hallowe en lineup lists events at the First Congregational Church Sunday School, St Elizabeth's Church, and Scouts Troops One and Four at DeWolf Memorial Chapel Columbia Hall and Scout Hall all at 7 o'clock. Other parties include the Collins and Aikman Girls Club on Thames street, Shorty's Dinette in Warren, and a G and G Girls of Warren dinner dance at the Colonial Hotel with masquerade prizes. An 11 new Hi Y members initiation merged with a spook party at the Bristol Y M C A continues on to the third page.

Cast Set for Hope Circle Olde Time Minstrel Show

Hope Circle Daughters of Isabel la announce the all female Olde Time Minstrel and Family Album program to be staged in St Mary's auditorium on November 13 and 14. The show features four colored performers Mammy Chloe Mammy Lou Aunt Dinah and Aunt Jemima with soloists Mrs M J O'Brien Rita Serlot Genevieve Laucier and Mrs Alfred Heinkel. Several specialty dances and a gallery of portraits will round out the program with Mrs Walter Kerr Reader and Mrs Joseph Warren accompanist.

Two Bristol motorists appear among 93 license penalties issued by Registrar Wilfred J. Paquin. Anthony Nastri of 25 Bourne Street was convicted of reckless driving and had his license suspended. Henry J. Rainey of Colt Drive had his license suspended as an improper person to be licensed.
