Mother Gonzaga of Mount Novitiate Dies at 75
Rev Mother Mary Gonzaga C P superior of Mount Joseph Novitiate of the Sisters of the Holy Cross and Passion died early Sunday after a long illness in Rhode Island. Born Margaret McCunnin in Dublin on Oct 3 1859 she entered the order in 1882 and aided girls education and orphanages in England before coming to Providence in 1924 to open St Gabriel's Home and Assumption Convent. She presided over the novitiate here from 1931 until her death with funeral services set for Thursday at the novitiate chapel and burial in St Francis Cemetery Providence.
