Halloween Parade and Dance Scheduled by Local Groups
Tomorrow night residents will enjoy a Halloween parade for pre junior high students led by the Kingsmen Drum and Bugle Corps followed by costume prizes and a Reynolds School party. A post parade game offers twenty prizes, then a phone call home with early prize for first responders. High schoolers may attend a YMCA dance at 7 30 p.m with refreshments and records, tickets free at the Y. Francis Perry Heads July 4th Committee Again

Civic Head To Speak At Meeting In Bristol Dinner

Rangers Triumph At Navy Day Parades In Bristol
The Bristol Rangers Bugle and Drum Corps shone at Navy Day parades in Newport and Providence, drawing large crowds and praise from judges. Dr Arcadio Giura of Warren was re elected chairman of the Bristol County Chapter of the American Cancer Society at the annual executive committee meeting. Dr William L Serbst was elected vice chairman while A O Gotten and Mrs William C Funk were named treasurer and secretary. A resolution praising Mrs Alfred G Drew for two years of service was read and Mrs Ralph Fletcher of Barrington was chosen to succeed her as service chairman. Spar Hindered By Weather Skipper Says
The Coast Guard Cutter Spar under Lt Norman P Ensrud faced rough seas for days with wind and serving buoys. A midweek refueling at Brenton lightship occurred in good conditions, with two more buoys serviced. Sparrow then to Woods Hole to replace a whistle buoy and Buzzards lightship was refueled during the run. A long list of names, delegates, and speakers attended an evening event where Dr Thomas H Murphy and Dr Herman A Lawson spoke on cancer control and leukemia, urging yearly exams and continued funding.

Bristol Building Subcommittee Sets Open Closed Session Policy
Bristol Building Committee chairman Benjamin Hazen said a subcommittee has settled on a policy for open and closed sessions but the proposal will not be released until the full committee is informed. Past meetings have been held in closed session since mid August, with records to be made available after findings. The panel previously set a deadline for selecting an architect to study Bristol high school enlargement, choosing Robinson Green and Berretta of Providence.
