Planning board urges townwide coop on armory site

The Bristol planning board head Dr Russell S Bray called for unified coordination among town agencies to plan long term for the new Battery C armory site. Fire Chief Rishe proposed hydrants every 250 feet and larger pipe where lines run long, while developers voiced mixed support. Battery C volunteers began digging eight test holes today to speed construction after state engineers failed to provide manpower.

Women’s Club Offers 25 Dollars for Top Paintings

The Women’s Club will award 25 dollars in prizes to the three top winners in the Halloween painting contest for local merchants windows. About 80 junior and senior high students started artwork at 1 30 p.m. today. The Chamber of Commerce asked merchants to participate, with 18 on Hope street and two on Wood street agreeing. Some merchants wanted windows decorated last night, but their requests were too late.
