Federal Prohibition Agents with local police raided four homes on Saturday and two more yesterday, seizing four stills ranging from 25 to 100 gallons, hundreds of gallons of mash, brown sugar, yeast, and finished liquor. Addresses tied to Adelaide de Freitas, Eluzgir Baptista, Manuel Luiz Alves, Perry Plat, and William Luiz Alves are listed. Brotherhood Elects Officers At Parish Meeting

The St Michaels Brotherhood held its annual meeting at the parish house with strong turnout. They elected officers for the year: President Hiram A Rounds, Vice President W Frederick Williams Jr, Secretary Charles H Sparks, Treasurer John G Stewart, Executive Committee members Williams Magee Munro. A $10 donation to the Bristol Branch Red Cross was approved and a by law change was voted. W Frederick Williams Jr gave a world trip illustrated talk and a hospitality collation followed.

Lena Carroll Celebrates Birthday at Carroll Home

A surprise party honored Miss Lena Carroll Friday evening at her uncle and aunt Albert and Mrs Carrolls house in Barrington. Guests from Providence Riverside and nearby towns attended. Prizes were awarded after games and refreshments were served.

Soldiers' Home Visits by Women's Relief Corps Entertainment Preview

Rhode Island Soldiers' Home welcomed a large crowd for the monthly Women’s Relief Corps visit. The Annie M Thompson Junior Club performed dances and songs, cake was served, and veterans enjoyed speeches and recognition led by Mrs Susan M Sheple and remarks from Mrs Mary May and Mrs Annie Doherty. The event closed with a group rendition of The Star Spangled Banner.
