Mt Hope Chapter to Present Eastern Star Entertainment

Mount Hope Chapter No 23 Order of the Eastern Star will present an evening program in the Colt Memorial High School auditorium next Thursday. The event features songs and dances by Miss Eunice Annette Maher of Newport and is organized under the chapter’s auspices.

Armistice Day Committee Plans Broadcast from Hotel Belvedere

Chief Marshal Thomas A. Hickey told the Armistice Day Committee on Wednesday night at the Hotel Belvedere that arrangements are being made with a radio station to broadcast the Armistice Day exercises from the balcony.

Bristol County Chorus Elects Officers and Votes Name Change

Benjamin M MacDougall was elected President of the Bristol County Chorus at a Wednesday night rehearsal in the John Post Reynolds School auditorium. Dorothy M Foster was named Treasurer, Nora F Dwyer as Secretary, with a 9 member Executive Committee. The group voted to rename from Bristol Festival Chorus to Bristol County Chorus amid 14 new members, bringing total to 93. John FE Archer of Providence led rehearsals.

Epworth League Hosts Halloween Social at State Street Church

Members of the Epworth League at State Street ME Church held a Halloween social in the church vestry last night. Decorations featured Halloween novelties as games were played and refreshments served. The committee included Merrill W Pickett as chairman, Miss Ruby Blaisdell, Miss Edith Coggeshall, Mrs. Merrill W Pickett, Miss Alice Morgan, and Gordon R Brown.

Rhode Island Soldiers' Home Huskin Bee Held

Thirty members of the Soldiers' Home Committee of the Woman's Relief Corps visited the Rhode Island Soldiers' Home for the annual huskin bee. More than 50 bushels of corn were husked. Visitors arrived at 10 and left at 3:30 with home made cake shared among comrades. Department President Mrs Mary F. Curtis among attendees.

Halloween Social at Grand Army Hall Features Matrimonial Minstrels

A Halloween social and dance drew many attendees at Grand Army Hall on Wednesday night hosted by the cast of Matrimonial Minstrels. The event supported the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel with Halloween decorations and Martelly's Orchestra providing music. Refreshments followed intermission and the committee included James Ruggiero as chairman along with Mrs. John Joseph and Misses Mary Alisio Santo and Maturi.
