Firehouse wins return of historic Hydraulion pumper
After fourteen years of legal battles, the Old Hydraulion Back to Bristol Committee secured a Bristol court order declaring the antique hand drawn pumper rightful owner is the Hydraulion Fire Company. Judge George Jacobs concluded the 1836 purchase and subsequent formation of the fire company prove Bristol ownership. The victorious scene as firemen returned the historic vessel to Bristol ends a long dispute with the New Bedford Museum and Veterans group.
