Community Halloween Party Draws Strong Local Support

Enthusiasm remains high as Bristol plans a large Halloween parade sponsored by Bristol Post No. 6 American Legion. The event includes a parade from Wood Street to the Armory with music by the Boy Scout Bugle Corps and the Portugese Independent Band, prizes, ice cream, and entertainment. Donations are urged to cover refreshments and prizes, with proceeds aiding the celebration.

Three New Members Admitted To Almeida Post

The Anthony Almeida Post No. 237 VFW admitted three new members at a Wednesday night meeting. Commander James Riccio presided. Chester W. Williams spoke as RI Soldiers' Home commander about the National Encampment in Chicago. Members voted to donate $5 to the Hallowe'en Party for Children sponsored by Kearney Post.

Knights of Columbus Dinner Dance in Bristol Draws 150

About 150 attended the Bristol Council Knights of Columbus annual dinner dance last night at the New Highland Casino. James Connors chaired the committee with helpers Salvatore Massano Anthony Campagna John Mello Joseph Malloy Anthony Dupont Augustine Nerone Joseph Ferreira John L. Burke Anthony DuPont and ex officio George Ingram. District Deputy Joseph Civiano was a guest.

Five Injured In Auto Collision In Newport

Five persons were injured yesterday afternoon in a two car collision near Bradford street on High street. A Samuel Colt Estate car driven by Harry DeWolf Allen of Pappasquash Road struck a northbound Newport car carrying four people. Injured include George McDonald Jr 17 Sheila M Hagan 16 Robert Johnson 17 and Barbara Healey 17. Dr Paul Bruno treated the injured at his office with help from John Castro and Eric Dober. Police Chief Anthony J Ferrara investigated.

Supreme Head to Visit Pythians in Bristol Event

Charles J Schuck of Wheeling will visit Bristol on November 13 at the GAR Hall marking the first national visit in two years and launching a Kiddie Kamp Foundation appeal in Rhode Island. About 400 are expected with delegations from Monitor Lodge Providence Narragansett Crompton Redwood Newport What Cheer Myrtle Woonsocket Eureka Pawtucket and Red Cross Lodges. Elizabeth Barlow of Providence will lead the Pythian Sisters delegation. Invitations go to Grand Temple and subordinate temples.
