Enos to Lead Armistice Day Parade Chief Marshal

Joseph W. Enos, past commander of Kearney Post No. 6 American Legion, was chosen chief marshal for Armistice Day. Dr Samuel I Kennison of Providence will be orator and Rev Anthony R Parshley will be chaplain. Four bands and multiple organizations pledged participation.

Aid Directors Reject Community Coal Yard Plan

Bristol public aid directors defeated Rev. A R Parshley s plan for a community coal yard to distribute fuel. They approved returning to last year s delivery method and considered bids for new anthracite coal while authorizing 40 gallons of fuel oil every three weeks for recipients who burn oil.

Country Fair planned at State Armory Nov 19 as fund raiser

A community athletic field project behind Guiteras Memorial Junior High School will stage Country Fair at the State Armory in town on November 19. Fifteen local organizations will sponsor booths and activities including vaudeville acts, a street parade, and crops display. Participating groups include Rotary Club Lions Club American Legion and Auxiliary Bristol PTA and Girl Scouts.

Coggeshall Protest Hearing By Bristol Town Council Tonight

Former State Senator Daniel W. Coggeshall protests the Oct 5 caucus that chose the Democratic Town Committee ticket, alleging improper notice under state law. Famous aviation officer to speak at Armistice service

Capt Rupert J Goodman Crouch commander at Dunkirk and head of Britain's main air depot on the Western Front will be the speaker at the Armistice Service Sunday evening November 6 at the First Congregational Church. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and recipient of the OBE. Invitations issued to Bristol patriotic groups. The Men's Union sponsors the service.

Man Dies From Bicycle Accident Injuries

John W Brown 66 of Peck Avenue died at home after a bicycle struck him as he walked on Hope Street causing skull fracture and brain hemorrhage. The rider John Algeia 18 of Dixon Avenue was questioned as authorities investigate. Brown long served Taft School as janitor and leaves wife Rebecca and two sons Bruce and Arthur. Funeral set for Thursday at his residence with burial in North Cemetery.
