Town Council Schedules Parking Restriction on Thames Street

Town Council meeting lasting 40 minutes approved limiting parking on the south end of Thames street by the Bristol mill of the Collins-Aikman Corp due to a narrow thoroughfare and double railroad tracks. Citizens also gain permission to sell fireworks during Armistice Day week and hearing set for harbor work off Franklin street station.

Armistice Day plans evolve with parades and races in town

Samuel J Smith Jr announced Armistice Day activities at the Hotel Belvedere. The Bristol Collins-Aickman plant and Herreshoff boat shops will close for the holiday. The committee added bands, a balcony concert, a patriotic speech by Judge Ira Lloyd Letts, and a 10 mile road race starting at the Belvedere and ending at the county courthouse.

The 243d Coast Artillery Corps Battery C received a guidon Tuesday night at the State armory Bristol presented by Brig Gen L H Callan on behalf of the Town Council and Town of Bristol Lieut John E Clark accepted for the battery Col Cyrus L D Wells praised civic support urging drills and visits to the armory The event featured an infantry drill a town council delegation and a clam chowder reception
