Herreshoff yacht Consuelo sinks after collision during Chesapeake crossing
The motor-sailor Consuelo, owned by Sidney Herreshoff, sank after a collision with the American Builder as it passed the Chesapeake Delaware Canal en route to Florida. Herreshoff and two passengers escaped in a dinghy. salvage crews work to raise the sunken vessel and recover belongings. Coast Guard investigation underway.
