Officers Elected for Kearney Post and Auxiliary
The annual elections for Kearney Post No 6 American Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary were held in Grand Army Hall with many members present. Officers include Commander James T Pierce and President Mrs Katherine F Troiano among others. An Armistice banquet is set for Nov 9 at 6 pm in Hotel Belvedere, with plans for a junior basketball team and a joint installa tion with Pawtucket Post.

First Rifle Match Won by BTA in Town Council Trophy
The Bristol Train of Artillery rifle team won the first match of the second series for the Town Council trophy at the BT A armory indoor range last evening, scoring 715 of 750 and defeating Battery C 608. Capt Ralph Bennett led with 147, Lieut Hartley and Capt Hambrick tied for second with 143, and Lieut Canning and Lieut Moren tied for third with 142. Perfect scores were posted by four BTA members in prone and by several in the sitting position.

Attendance at Weekday Religious Schools Reaches Ninety Seven
Ninety seven pupils enrolled in the first sessions of the weekday religious instruction schools opened Wednesday afternoon at the First Congregational Church chapel and St Michael's Holmes House. Sixty in the junior class and thirty in the senior group attended under leaders Res Herbert D Graetz and Res Anthony R Parshles.

DREADNAUGHTS LADDER TRUCK RETURNS IN NEW RED PAINT
The Seagraves motorized ladder truck of the Dreadnaught Hook Ladder and Hose Co has been overhauled and repainted by a Warren firm. Formerly battleship gray, it now features dark red color with black and gold scrollwork and a Bristol Town seal hood plaque reading Bristol Fire Department. Some ladders will be finished to match.

Parents and Teachers Association Meets in Small Turnout
A Wednesday P T A meeting at John Past Reynolds School drew five mothers and 18 teachers. The resignations of President Mrs Arthur M McCaw and hospitality chair Mrs Willam H Angevine were accepted. School nurse Mary B Sanford and Superintendent W J Harper spoke on teeth care and PTA benefits. A November meeting will decide on the association’s continuation.
