Hon W T C Wardwell longtime Bristol businessman and public figure died at his Bay View home in Bristol after years of kidney disease and failing sight He served as a state senator lieutenant governor and presidential convention delegate and helped found the Wardwell Lumber Company with a life of public service and charity noted He was born Sept 20 1835 in Bristol and descended from early New England families. his civic roles included advocating memorials and local projects and guiding the Soldier's Home location in town Continued on third page.

Utter, General Secretary R G Hooper, and State Secretary R M Armstrong spoke on Y M C A values, investments in manhood, and community impact. The Temple club provided music and Kneeland entertained, followed by a ladies auxiliary lunch.
