About 75 residents and merchants attended a two hour Traffic Committee hearing on the 60 day one side parking plan for Hope Street. The group formed a four man sub committee to refine recommendations for a joint meeting with the Town Council next Friday.

The Bristol Townies meet Club 400 at Guiteras Field Sunday at 2 15 pm marking opening of home schedule. Rear Admiral Hoovers will throw the opening ball. Townes, Bristol County champions, travel with full squad except Harold Manchester who is nursing a broken shoulder. Townies have 1 1 1 record in Colonial league games and recently beat North Providence Merchants 13 6 before losing to City Hall ACA. Floodlights at Guiteras Field were installed and practices are held there on evenings from 7 to 9.

Auction To Benefit Comfort Station Fund
Members of the Bristol Exchange Club finalized plans for a charity auction on October 25 at 1 pm at Beals Field Hope Street. The event supports the erection of a comfort station on the Town Common. Posters promote the sale and local groups are urged to back the campaign. A guest, L W Gouilbard of Esso Marketeers, attended and a short film Oil and Poru was shown. Plans also call for a Halloween Party at the White Rail on October 31. The next club meeting will be in November.
